Season of Firsts!
Well this year was a "season of firsts" for me so to speak! I had a great year!
1st opening day kill 1st buck I ever killed, 7 pointer with rifle. 1st deer killed off my property in Michigan. 1st Michigan deer I have ever killed. 1st deer killed with snow on the ground, young Doe 1st late season deer, young Doe 1st deer I have ever processed myself, young Doe..... I processed this Doe yesterday and was surprised how easy it is to do. I will be doing this from now on unless time is an issue due to unexpected early season heat! Did anyone have any firsts this season??? |

This year I killed my first out of Ohio buck (Indiana):D, my first buck with my truck[:@], first time I ever lost weight due to so much flesh being removed by black flies[:@], first time I have ever heard an outfitter say "this is the worst year we have ever had" (caribou hunt)[:@], first time I have ever killed a "targeted buck":D |

- first year I got 3 deer and the 270 wasn't responsible for any of them
- first big..ish buck with a bow(123 gross, 113 net @240lbs) - first time I ever saw a Cabela's buck in the woods (he just laughed at methen ran off) |

The first shot at a deer with my '07 Vectrix producedthis doe, double lunged. She ran about 40yrds.

1st yr I choked on the 1st wall-mounter buck that came by; 1st yr I missed w/my shotgun (unloaded 5 rds &still missed) DARN SCOPE; the best for last: 1st yr that I took my son out hunting!

First year i harvested both a buck and a doe with my bow.
First year i didn't carry my rifle for firearms opener. |

1st buck with my pistol.
Before Illinois opened up the regular gun (shotgun and muzzle loader) season to include pistols I had to take anterless only deer in the late (mid January) firearm season because that was the only time you were allowed to use them.  |

First time in 51 years of Bowhunting I did not hunt in Nov. during the rut or basically any hunting atall.
Wife was critically ill starting Sept. & is still battling a bone infection from a back operation & very ill. No Bowhunting is a small price to pay for her to get well. I hope everyone gets a 1st in 2008. Good Luck to all. |

1ST time I got to hunt with my best friend in four years due to deployments to Iraq and he is deploying this fall before the season starts.

Me?, Might be the first buck I ever killed on the date of Oct 29th. First doe I've taken in alot of years, since late 90's. (Thanks Rick James) That's about it. |

1st - Elk 1st - Multi Turkey day with a bow 1st - time I can count on one hand how many times I hunted after November 7th. |

1.Archery Elk Hunt.
2.Took the wife bow hunting and killed her first deer 3. Killed a deer I didn't want to but did the right thing because it was injured. 4. Rattled in 2 bucks and watched them fight. |
