thumb trigger release

I am looking to get a good thumb trigger release to try and improve my release during the off season and maybe hunt with in the future. Anybody have any recomendations on a good one that could be used for hunting to?

RE: thumb trigger release

I had a good idea.....until you mentioned hunting with it. I'd be REAL afraid of hunting from a treestand with mine. I'd be afraid I'd drop it[&:].

I bought the Carter 'Just Cuz' on advice from some real good target shooters here in the forum. I am just trying to get used to it. But....it seems to be getting better.

Somebody makes a thumb trigger release (I'm sure Spot Hogg does) that also has a wrist strap to secure it. I think Rick James (Matt) uses one like this.

Good luck!

RE: thumb trigger release

I usethe Tru ball Chappy Boss which retails at about $160-170. I hunt with mine, and yes GMMAT is correct, you must be very careful with them. I dropped mine whilestalking in 3 inches of snow and luckily my dad found it. I clip mine on my string while hunting in a tree and havent dropped it out of the stand yet. I ensure that i put it in my pocket when i am climbing down. I love this release, although the price is very high. Tru Ball also makes a Pro Diamond, that runs about $70-80 and is a very similar release. Improved my shooting immensely! Good Luck!
