Dry Fire at Jays, LOL!

A friend went with me up to Jays Sporting Goods the other day. I was looking a some new bow gear, because prices are way down.

My friend, decides to pick up the new $1000 Hoyt bow. He was standing right next to me and pulled it back. Knowing my friend, he isn't the brightest crayon in box, only used two fingers. He almost got to full draw and the string slipped. Pieces flew every where. The guy from the counter immediatley comes around and says, what was that? A guy in the back room heard it and knew exactly what it was. So he comesfrom the back roomand takes the bow back to hcek everything. After the outcome of what happenedgood thing it wasn't me!

LOL, bet my friend will learn to be more careful!

I saw the same thing happen a few years ago at D.i.c.k.s Sporting Goods. A young kid (teenager) was in there and picked up a Martin bow and dry fired it. But in this case, the ignorant sales clerk didn't seem to care! [&:]

The point it makes is that some people are just to stupid to be allowed in public unsupervised. We all pay the price for this kind of ignorance.

I believe that's some of High Country's BS you're thinking of, bigcountry. They had a bow on a dry fire machine at the ATA Show several years ago.Instead of lasting the whole show like they bragged it would, it blew up in short order.;)

Goodness Art, I hope they had that thing behind plexiglass. That would make me nervious someone doing that over and over.

Another guy in another thread said Hoyt made a claim. I havent' seen it advertised however

lol not quite
before a prototype set of limbsgoes into production, they must first pass a test of 1000 dry fires. risers must pass 1500 dry fires i believe. check out there website, they have a video of it on the home page.

of course claims can sometimes be misleading[&:]
