ORIGINAL: bigcountryWouldn't it be nice is the ATA's standard was a bow could survive one dry fire. But I bet that bow would wiegh 6lbs or more.
enter the 2008 high country's.....Designed to be dry fired for the most part.
I would imagine the Elite bows do ok too, as they have very similar limbs.
Others on here said HC made a fool of themself at the ATA show with that claim.

Then I walked into the bathroom, locked the door and allowed myself a short, silent tantrum.
Haha I liked that part.

Sucks buddy but he's just a kid.

I dryfired my old Jennings bow from full draw. It survived thanks to the design of the cam, as this nut (pictured below) was able to slide down the channel and absorb most of the shock. I also dropped this bow out of the tree @ 25', and it survived unscathed. You'd be amazed at how far a compound bow can bounce, when it hits the ground hard enough.

I practically dry-fire my Iron Mace everytime I shoot it: 71# 290 grain arrow (4.08 gpp). Still in one piece. BC - I'd like to hear more about this "embarrassment" by HCA at the ATA show. That comes as news to me.

Well, unless you went to the show, I would say it would be news to you. But PM Arthur P, he was teh one who reported it.
