i have a hoyt viper now but i am going to get a new bow this year. i like to shoot out to 60 yards because of the trips out west that my friends and i take just about every year what are some bows that i should try out that have the speed and energy and forgivenes that i need to get out to that range

bowtech, diamond, fred bear, and redhead but theres a lot out there. you just have to go to your local shop and see what fits you best

RE: what bow would you buy
I just bought a Mathews Drenalin LD- 7” brace, 37” ATA, 315 FPS. But you should go out and shoot as many new bows that have the specs you are looking for and take it from there.

RE: what bow would you buy
I'd get the bow that would give me the flattest trajectory for the arrow weight I wanted to shoot.
I can't see anything out there right now fitting that bill better than the Bowtech Airborne series. |
RE: what bow would you buy
You are definately used to a high reflexed aggressive bow but I still have a hard time recommending them for long range shooting.I would look more at the longer a-a bows in the 37" range such as the MAthews Drenalin LD,the Bowtech Commander or the Hoyt Seven 37(maybe the Katera XL).They all have very similar specs and would fit your application perfectly imo.

ORIGINAL: whitetailbowhunter I bought myself a Diamond Marquis and i love it!:D Birth certificate said 61# max, 310 fps with a 300 grain arrow. Mat The 82 Airborne however with a KE pushing or over 90 ftlbs of KE might be better suited for shots out west to carry the KE downrange. ;) I love my Marquis. My BC says 311 fps, 70 lbs, 350gr arrow and that would equal 75 ft lbs KE. I haven't put my ACC out of it through a chrono yet but I'm curious. I think it's going to be slightly slower than my 06 Allegaince but I do like how it shoots. |
