kansas deer hunts
While watching G3 outdoors last weekend, I noted that they were hunting in SE ks & the first hunter indicated he had hunted 30 days during archery season w/o being able to tag a buck. He returned during rifle season & showed him filling his tag w/ a rifle. You CAN NOT legally hunt both seasons w/ both weapons. You can hunt during firearms season w/ a bow but you can not switch weapons. Did anyone else see that. The only possible way for that to have been legal is if the hunter was a land owner and had a hunt on your own land tag. This is something that really makes me mad & it seems nothing ever happens to the slobs that commit the violations.

RE: kansas deer hunts
i didn't see that but you are correct...the parks and wildlife made that clear when i got my out of state tag......
how was your success this year kansaswiderack????? we hunted rifle only with rifle and saw many does and i got one small buck....very nice state and tough hunting on public and private land |
RE: kansas deer hunts
This is for out of state hunters right? They can only get one tag either for gun or bow season?
If that is the case I would almost bet that the hunter was from Kansas to get both tags. Otherwise I doubt they would show on tv someone breaking the law. Maybe I'm wrong, but i think they would be smarter than that. |
RE: kansas deer hunts
out of state ... that is correct...u get one tag..if archery tag then have to hunt archery during rifle season.....
i didn't think of that...good point...he must be living in KS to be able to do that and have both tags... |
RE: kansas deer hunts
Residents do not have the option to hunt w/ more than one buck tag. Its very clear on that. The rule is the same for both residents & non residents. That being said, I believe the poacher was from Missouri. My point was that it appears to be a violation based on what was said during the show & could lead others into thinking they can do the same. You can hunt during firearms season w/ a bow tag, but you must hunt w/ a bow.

RE: kansas deer hunts
Someone correct me if I amwrong but, I think the land owners are allowed 1 permit for like every 200 acres, Outfitters leasing the land acquire them from the land owners and clients that dont get drawn for a permit acquire it from the Outfitter. If the land owners permit is for archeryandgun, then I can see how their getting away with it.
I know they was working on this years ago, but Im not sure it ever passed. |
