Extremely Bummed.(Pics)
 

Well I'm really bummed and mad at myself. I went out yesterdat and saw one of the biggest bucks of my life. I couln't believe he survived gun season. I wasn't able to go hunting today because I had a family christmas get together. I was really hoping to go tomorrow but I guess it wasn't meant to be. In the process of throwing around a football today I somehow managed to break my pinky on my right hand. And due to the fact that it is in a splint there is no way I can draw my bow. And thats not the worst of it. The ER doctor was almost sure that I tore tendon/muscle or whatever allows you to bend your finger. And the only way to fix it is to have it operated on. So the rest of my season is shot. I'm really hoping that I don't have to have the surgery and I'm praying for a quick recovery. I'll try to post a picture of the X-ray tomorrow if I can.

Sorry to hear that, but at least it didnt happen right before the season started! Also, you know that a big guy made it past the orange army so thats another good thing.

wow that is a BUMMER! Thats one of those things you just have to sorta go with the flow about not much you can do. Sorry to hear about that buddy Get Better soon.

dam dude sorry that is a drag !!! well start planning on next year get the trail cameras going and track the deer in that area !!! once your pinky is better, start shooting like mad !!! well.......good luck hope you dont have to have the surgery!

Well at least you know there is a bruiser roaming around that will be bigger and badder next season (assuming he makes it through the winter). Too bad about your finger. Get well.

Ronnie Lott cut the tip of his pinky off to play ball, Man up and go hunt, pain is transient but a mount on the wall is forever!

Do you use your pinky finger drawing a bow? I think I'd try it. I shoot longbows and compounds and don't use that finger for either.

Of course I'm not the one hurt. I love to get out anytime I can. I think even if I had to take a camera I would go.

I don't use my pinky to draw but the way I had to wear the splint I couldn't draw my bow. And besides I ended up having to have surgery on my hand today and had pins put into my finger. As of right now my entire right hand is wrapped in gauze and in a sling. Heres a picture of the pin in my finger.

In the words of my Uncle" Your Tender LOL " I have herd him say that to mea thousand times lol,anyhow looks pretty painful but this should make you feel a bit better. Check out what happened toUnc's finger on the Elk Hunt this year LOL he had a Little horse wreck.

I have one question which way was your finger pointingafter you broke it North South EastWest or all of the above lol

Did a 6 year old sew you up? haha just kidding, but it looks like someone just grabbed some regular things you find in a sewing kit and stiched yah up! Pin, needle, thread, button! haha

Thats what I thought when I first saw it too. From what the doctor told me the button is there to hold the wires that are wrapped around the bone to hold it in place. I don't quite understand how that works but since he is a doctor I'm inclined to believe him.

Good Lord that's got too smart!seems it would bump or catch on other objects and become tender but like you saidSawbonesknows best... Just be careful when put-in your shirt on it might but-tin to the sleeve LOL. Looks like its healing up good soKeep it that way.
