HOYT DYNATEC IT IS!!!

Hey guys,

Just got in from my little shooting escapade today. I went to my local Bowtech, PSE, and High Country shop. They didn't treat me too great. I got to hold the bows (few there) that I liked, but, they won't let customers test them.
Well, I went back up to "my" dealer. I went in and he instantly recognized me, even though I haven't been there since July of last year. Well, we got to talking and he did what he did last year, pulled all the bows down and let me go. Here are my results,

2003 SuperTec- Great bow, the grip just didn't feel right for me, but man, that thing is FAST!!!!
2003 SierraTec- Another good bow, not as fast as I would like, but very forgiving.
2003 MagnaTec- Great bow, fast, forgiving, but a little big for me since it was a ZR200 series that is 37 1/2" axle to axle.
2003 RazorTec- I shot his sons which was equipped with a Hoyt N.A.P. 4000 T.E.C. Rest, Hoyt Micro Elite Sight, Hoyt Dura Light Two Piece Quiver, and 5 1/2" Hoyt Flex Stabilizer. VERY VERY accurate bow. No kick, and forgiving. I shot two different arrows out of it "ultra light" and "normal" I shot the ultra light arrow through the chrono and got 311 f.p.s., I shot the average arrow through and pulled out 296 f.p.s. The only complaint I had was about the grip. It just seemed a little thing for my liking.

Then, the owner broke out his 2003 HavocTec, which I shot a few times. A little too small for my liking. It seemed a little unstable (which could be due to the fact that the draw length was 1" shorter than mine, but, overall a great bow.

I shot the Browning Eclipse ZLX, VERY fast, but, it had some hand shock and wasn't as quite as I would have liked. It was probablly the best looking bow I had in my hands today.

I shot the Martin Tracer Mag again, and, it felt perfect, at the time that is. I loved it and was honestly thinking about getting it (it was what came in 2nd place in my picks last year)

Then, I shot the Mathews MQ-32", FX, Icon, Legacy, and Black Max. All very good bows, but, like last year, just didn't feel right. I couldn't pick out the reason, but, it just didn't fit me perfectly.

Then, I shot the last bow of the night, the 2003 Hoyt DynaTec. I decided to leave it last because I knew that it had appeared like it would be the best bow for me, and I didn't want to shoot it first and cloud my judgement. Well, I shot it and almost dropped over in amazement. I LOVED the grip. It was a little wider than the other Hoyts and my pinky didn't want to go into the cut below the grip like it did on the SuperTec. The cam and a half system is BY FAR, the BEST system I have ever seen on ANY bow. I have never thought that a bow could be made with such a SMOOTH draw. There is really no defining spots from first starting the draw to peak weight to let-off. It was one fluid motion, each part just flowed right into the other. The bow's overall dimensions fit me perfectly. It was 1/2" shorter than my MT Sport, and, it is 4 ounces lighter. The riser feels more stable than my MT Sport, and, the bow shoots fast. Using the arrow that I would be using if hunting, I chronoed the bow at an astonishing 273 f.p.s. The bow had NO handshock and was whisper quiet. The bow just seemed to want to stay in my hand and keep being shot. I shot it for about 30 minutes straight without getting any arm fatigue. The bow is incredibly accurate also. When I started shooting it, I said, "this is it" to the owner of the shop. He then asked me "what would you more than likely put on it if you owned it". So, we went out and put on a N.A.P. QuickTune 4000 drop away rest, Hoyt Micro Elite Sight, and 7" X-Ring Carbon/Silicone Stabilizer, with a Dusk vision peep sight. We went back to the back and sighted it in and I shot it at 30 yards. I was holding 2" groups at 30 yards, which I thought was great considering that I hadn't really got the entire feel of the bow yet.

Well, overall, I spent about 30 minutes at the BowTech dealer, and 2 hours and 30 minutes at my Hoyt shop shooting.

I came to the conclusion that the DynaTec was MADE FOR ME!!!! He put it back, I am going up Friday and putting my down payment on it. That bow is just......... words can't describe it.

lone, the DynaTec is 459.95, so, with your average epuipment, including arrows and broadheads, around $800.00

I think you made a good choice Jason. The Dynatec is an excellent "middle ground" bow that should make it more than capable for a variety of archery applications.
