i just want to say this for everyone. i would not recomend the apple flavor at all but the other flavors work great especially molasses. but i think buck grub is one of the best

RE: Where to put buckjam?
I would suggest waiting until the summer or next bow season. If I'm not mistaken it's just sodium and salt, but check the label to make sure. Down here in the deep south, the deer will only use it when it's hot. When it cools off, they won't touch it.

RE: Where to put buckjam?
I was given a jug of it for a Xmas gift quite a few years ago. We used it in late Febuary when the bucks were shedding to see if it was any good. Poured it on the ground, tree stumps and an old hay bale. The deer devoured it. Wasn't much left of the old hay bale when they were done with it !! They love it in cold weather too.

RE: Where to put buckjam?
I usually put it on corn and then after the corn is gone the deer paw at the ground. I use it all season long as they use it all season long. Not just in the summer.
They seem to like the P-Nut Butter scent the best. Then the Apple. They didn't care too much for the Persimmon on my land. All deer are going to be different so one they might love one flavor on your land, but not touch it on mine. All of it tastes the same, just smells different. I will say that the BuckJam is by far the best thing I've ever seen on my land. I've tried BuckGrub, BuckBran, Trophy Rock, Lucky Buck and a few other things, but nothing has worked to bring the deer in like the BuckJam. |

RE: Where to put buckjam?
I put the Apple Buck Jam on one of those 20 to 25 lb hard feed blocks and add it to the block a few times as the deerand animals work it down to nothing, the Jam soaks into the ground and over the months the deer will dig down in the dirt to get the minerals. Some times it takes a little while for the deer to work the jam and ground up but it has worked in my area.I also put out a regular white salt block and the deer use it a lot too, along with some Super 12 mineral from the local MFA Feed Store.I suggest trying different types of minerals to see what your Deer's like the best!
