area Poacher's get the cuffs
Story started two weeks ago when my father inlaw caught a man and two women on his 100 acre hunting property, they said they thought it was someone elses ground, so my father inlaw introduced them to the many posted signs with his name on them, they said they had shot a 12 pointer and was looking for it, only one drop of blood. He found the women sitting in his chickery plot, he ran them off. Yesterday a guy on the next property was hunting and said a truck drove by real slow stopped and fired a high powered rifle downing a doe from the road on his property and left the scene. the neighboring landowner was furious and called the warden, warden shows, finds the doe and hides in waiting. The poachers finally show up, walks up to the deer and now fire a muzzle loader into the highpower riflewound to cover their tracks [&:]while the warded was waiting in the shadows ;)They went awayin handcuffs. It was the same man and two women, and they also were found to have some mary jane on them also. BY,BY.father inlaw found out what happened, contacted the game warden about his trouble with them and now they got more fines slapped on them. They are getting what they deserve ;)What the heck is the matter with these people????????? just ranting :D

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
I just hope it's a substantial penalty, massive fines and loss of hunting priveledges ,not just a slap on the wrist like alot of these turn out to be.

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
Glad they got caught.
Also this got me to thinking--- wouldyou like to be a game warden? You take all kinds of greif, work all hunting seasons. and most everyone you confront has a weapon. |
RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
personally, i would not want to be one. I did befriend a new area warden about a month ago, i had tagged out on the deer and decided to take my 8 year old on a bowhunting coyote hunt, it was a just for fun hunt, he got to do all the calling, we ate chips and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches :DWe had a blast, anyway A warden was waiting for us when we got back to the truck (this was on the property i mentioned above) He was a new young guy in his upper 20's, he checked my licenes, we talked for about 40 minutes, he was a great guy. I told him where i lived and invited him to stop by sometime and shoot the bull. On the drive out he stoped me again and kindly pointed a huge buck 50 yards off the road, we glassed it for another five minutes :)I can see where there jobs can be strenious from some of the people they run into that give them grief.

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
Holy cow Dan, if it isn't EHD killing your deer it's poachers. They should let the guy who owns the farm they shot the deer on dish out the punishment. That sounds fair to me.

RE: area Poacher's get the cuffs
That is great that they were caught... It is happening more and more.. As I wrote about the industry in my other thread " Attention ALL HUNTERS NEED TO READ THIS" The cost of finding a place to hunt is harder and harder.. These dirt bags won't spend a dime for a lease but will buy a pound of Mary J instead and just jack deer on your land.. It sucks and it is getting worse.. I have the same problems on my land..

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
Bigtime.....The guy that seen it go down was in a tree hunting, the area has scattered trees and alot of thick underbrush (low scrub) that allowed him to see the poachers through his binos and spot the rifle. ;)
jmbuckhunter..... i agree on the spot punishment would do more justice, and yes the deer had a very tough year around here [&o] Tuco.....how ya doin Jack?? [8D] You know how my father inlaw is, it blew my mind that he did not freak out on them, what day are ya comming over to get your rock?? I know a guy that does know who they are, they live about 50 miles away. I agree everyone....its nice to have a good ending for a change ;)they are getting what they deserve. |

Congrats on the poachers getting caught! Glad to hear it!:)

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
Glad to hear they got caught.
In PA a poacher looses ALL his guns , his vehicle is impounded if he used it to shoot from and looses hunting privlidges. Fines and possibly jail. Sometimes I don't think it's enough. If the punishment was tougher, maybe poaching would cease. |
RE: area Poacher's get the cuffs
I hope they learned there lesson but probably not because they are idiots most likely. Most game violators are violators of other laws, in this case the possesion of mary jane.
|
RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
thank god why dont people ask if they can hunt a piece of property???? anyways way to go two less poachers to worry about? another thing you can do to catch these animals is to set up trail cameras and a live feed trail camera !!! there not cheap but well worth looking at animals and poachers?

RE: area Poatcher's get the cuffs
A story with a happy ending!
