So I wanted to put a trail camera in my Archery Hunting spot, I was out at Wal-mart For some reason, and I noticed they had one for 50 dollars, called a WILDVIEW...... WELLLLL I just tested it out, i cant even tell you where I am in the picutres at around 6 yards.... Walked at a deers pace past it twice... nothing. hahaha The pictures i got are all black.. Not very impressed. Gonna return it tomarrow for my 50 bucks back. I say no to this camera, Was easy to setup though.

(I bought an el-cheapo one because i have a problem with theft around my area. So if i loose a 50 dollar camera its better than a 350 dollar Cuddieback)

Yeah, someone gave me one.....I checked it once and when I came back the second time a bear had eaten it. I wasn't too disappointed.

Moultrie cameras, depending on the model, aren't super expensive. I did nearly the same thing as you and then got moultries. Good camera for the price.

Hell, I have one that I replaced a moultrie with and I like it better than the moultrie.[&:]The moultrie was swiped, but still....I like it better. Different strokes I guess.

I bought a two-pack of Wildview camsthe day after Thanksgiving last year for$50 at BPS, and they seem to work pretty good. They are, in no way, fantastic or even remotely comparable to those that run $200 or more. These cams are better when put up over an area where the deer aren't moving, like a feeder. I've gotten many pics from mine, but no movement pics. If you want something to take trail pics you'd be better off spending some real money.

I bought a Moultrie AND a Cuddeback in 2006. I used the Cudde a few times.....but to be honest....the Moultrie at $150 is tough to beat. I have 2000+ images on it.....and it's still kicking, strong.

I think it's the 3.0-3.1 (not sure). ALL my trailcam pics I post were from that unit.

The Wildviews are good for exactly what you described. They are cheap and you can buy many for the price of a top quality camera. If someone steals it your only out $50 instead of a couple hundred.


The trick is in how you set it up. TheWildviews have a really, really slow trigger time as well as a very weak flash. With that said, you should aim it up or down a deer trail insted of across it. Also, they work well when set up near a food source.
