Deep Snow Strategies???

PA's second season will be coming in Dec. 26th. We've hadalot of snow and ice and looks like more snow to come. I think we'll have about a foot in the woods by then.
When the ground is crusted over and temp's are in the 20's. Not real cold.
What's a good stand site? Creek bottoms? , Lower lying areas like pine stands? Where will they be hanging out?
The food is scattered and mostly browse. I hunt the woods. No crop fields here.
Will it change anything at all?
Need some advise.

Hemlocks, dense pines.A lot better thermal cover for them.Lookfor area's that face south. The tracks should tell you how they are using the area.

Look for wind swept areas exposed to the southern sun and make sure you're there if the sun comes out and temps rise above freezing. Under those circumstances, the best time to hunt is mid afternoon. You'll be knee deep in deer.

If temps stay cold, and especially if it's windy' hunt the hollows protected by hemlocks.

The harsher the weather and the deeper the snow. the more the deer tend to get bunched up. (remember the FLIR study results) Think cover and easiest food and you'll be surronded in brown

Thanks BT. That's what I was looking for. Where they'll hang out in the cold and snow.
