We are getting hammered with wind. Not so much as far as ice/snow goes, but I got branches all over the yard and a neighbors tree. [&:]Its just a constant roar outside.
Got to give it to you for sticking it out. I was out saturday morning doe only season. Had 3 then 4 come by, just not in range. One was getting perilously close though.

:D:DI thought I was the only one that hunted in a blizzard yesterday. That was some brutal stuff. Not sure why I went out other than to say I hunted in a nor'easter/blizzard [8D][:-]. I didn't see a single deer that I know of. I was hunkered down at times while the sleet was pelting my eyeballs. Way to go Germ. I like the dedication. But, why don't you take the skirt off and get in a treestand instead of your cozy little ground blind?;)

I was in the tree in the morning, and the storm coated my stands with ice first[:'(] IT was more about being safe.

The Blind was not that damn cozy:D THe wind kept moving it.

Horrible weather around here over the weekend... I went out spotlighting last night for 3 hours - almost froze to death and hardly saw anything. Gale force winds made it feel like a blizzard, and snow was drifted all over the roads - luckily the drifts were only a couple inches deep.

Hunting out of an icy tree is scary. Weird thing is: Once you get past the icy trunk andclimb up into the stand and get settled in - you don't want to risk life and limb getting back down. LOLNothing sucks more than sitting in a stand, staring at the ground thinking "man, I sure wish I was down there... I REALLY don't want to climb back down this tree."

Also, when the trees are icy, it seems like there's enough limbs snapping and trees falling to makeyou tighten up the safety belt and take a little more defensive posture... Not fun.

Way to keep at it. We haven't gotten much in the way of snow or ice, but the wind was howling. I'd be afraid to set up a blind for fear that is would blow away. Have you seen a lot of activity at that acorn ridge? I bet they are vacuuming up the acorns if they can get to them.

Good luck.
