My earliest finds ever....
 

I normally find a ton of sheds during the year....but this is the earliest I have ever found any.

My brother and I went to the cabin today to check our trail cams and got a little suprise. I found both of these little guys and we also got pics of 2 other bucks missing one side.

Oh yeah, this is in North Central WI.

Wow...that kind of makes me want to go out an look for some sheds...except for the foot of snow we got today!

Its a shame they are dropping the antleers already, but this winter has been prtty stressful on all of the critters. Withthe ice we have ontop of the snow it sure is making it hard for them to get to the food sources they need. Turkeys alone are having a hard time breaking through the ice. I have a feeling were in for worse season next year in Wi. Unless things change, I see the turkey and deer populations dropping drastically more in the next year.:(

Hey Chicken Littles........I think you are overreacting a little. At least as far as the deer go. Do you remember about 6-7 years ago.....we had a lot more snow that winter and very early. The deer did fine. As they will this winter.

Generally the young bucks shed early. I get pics every year this early and earlier of young bucks that have shed.....I just have never found any this soon.

So sit back, relax.....and maybe next year the Buck Growl will work again.

They started droping here almost 2 weeks ago. A ML hunter picked up a nice solid 4 point on the 4th of Dec.
