No deer here either. First time since we bought this place. I think it was a great season, though. I saw more deer than I have in a long, long time. I learned a ton (mostly thanks to you guys). I can't wait for next season, but in the meantime, the winter league will have to do. My son and I now have new bows to break in for next season!

Not getting any deer only makes you a better hunter in the long run. It's kind of like going to deer hunting school for a season :-) Plus, you get lots more time out in the woods and probably saw things you normally don't see.

Most guys are really quick to sign on here and brag about the deer they got, and I find it somewhattiring at times, but it takes a rare individual with internal fortitude to make an initial post about how they didn't get anything this year, in my opinion.

Well, I called it a season today.

No deer for me this year. The season wasn't completely unsuccessful, depending on how you want to look at it. I passed up several bucks this year that I would have shot in a heartbeat in previous years. With little to no rut activity, the deer have seemed to go nocturnal on me. Season ends at dark tonight, but I have to work 2-10.

The Allegiance is up for sale, so we'll see what next fall brings.

Thanks for all the support this year, guys. Good luck to everyone still out there. :)
Good luck next year Dan! Its a bugger when they only give out one tag a year, same thing where I hunt. Good luck next year with your new bow!

As long as you enjoyed yourself, thats what counts. Personally I hunt for the enjoyment and though I do eat the meat, its secondary.

Don't worry man, your friends here know you could have shot many times at deer but chose to stick with your goals. When it's not about just killing something and geared more for a specific purpose it shows your maturity as a hunter. Your reward will be growing as you think about next seasons adventures. If you ever want to hunt out of state I have just the spot for ya. Chris

Good luck in turkey season Dan. It'll be my third year this year and you know what they say, third's a charm!
