Ladies bow
I just got the "hey I'd like to hunt some next season when it's not to cold" from the g/f. I need a budget ladies bow? I'll measure for DL tonight and we'll visit some shops to see what the max she can pull (hopefully 40#). What do you guys recommend I look for? I'm open to used/older bows as well. Thanks in advanced.

RE: Ladies bow
I'd say anything she chooses so long as it fits her draw length and Strength. Being as it's your wallet I wouldn't get too concerned about price, especially if you want to keep her.
A couple within reason and decent bang for the buck would be the Martin Cheetah or Leopard. It's going to depend on her draw length. And if you look at these know that they are adjustable 15# down from the marked draw weight. If necessary you can even fudge that a little. And the MPro/mini-MPro is one of the smoother drawing cams. I'd mention more, but haven't kept up with all the offerings from other companies. It's nearly impossible. I'm sure there will be help soon. |
RE: Ladies bow
Thanks alot I will check into the Martin's. I currently shoot a diamond and love it, soI'm looking for info. from anyone with experience. Then she can tell her friends I bought her a diamond[8D]! thanks again BG

RE: Ladies bow
Diamond Edge, price is great and if she doesn't like it the resale on 'em is fantastic...

RE: Ladies bow
I have Bowtech Equalizer. Love it and it's quiet enough.

They also have a grow with your bow program, that when you grow out of your limbs that you are shooting, they will put the stronger limbs on for 50 bucks, if you start out with the smaller limbs! I got my son the 30-40 lbs for Christmas this year, so don't tell him! Maybe shoot a few different ones and see what feels rightfor her! crutch |
RE: Ladies bow
Katie shoots a Q2 with 50 lb limbs and a 26" cam.

RE: Ladies bow

RE: Ladies bow
I've called around all day. Finally found a diamond edge at D**k's for $289 and we get %20 corporate discount this weekend. But it's the 40-50 limbs and I'm not sure she can pull that. We'll be heading down to Winston tommorrow to see.
|
RE: Ladies bow
don't worry NCH, diamond has a limb exchange program so you can get some of the lighter limbs if you need and save the others for when she CAN pull it back... like $50 per set if i remember correctly...
|
RE: Ladies bow
You are right Sevenmag. Around $50 with shipping Diamond will exchange your limbs.
|
RE: Ladies bow
you could also take alook at bear archery, they have some good smaller bows for smaller framed shooters, also at a good price too;)

RE: Ladies bow
Ask Germ what he uses. :D Sorry just too easy.

RE: Ladies bow
My wife is currently shooting a Parker Micro Pheonix. Its a sweet little bow. Its actualy for sale. I have both sets of limbs for it. 30 to 40lbs and 40 to 50lbs.

Ladies bow? That's easy. Mathews! [8D]
My god. I need to read the entire thread before posting. This joke is so played out.... |
RE: Ladies bow
Update, I went to D**k's to get the only Edge they had in stock (Price was 289 + my 20% discount) anyways it was a 40 - 50 and the 40 was a little heavy yet. She could only pull it back a couple of times without tiring. I've found a Darton II 15-45lb draw weight for $200 brand new. Anyone know anything about this bow?
|
RE: Ladies bow
Dont know anything bout the Darton but i got my GF a Browning Micro Adrenaline, very similar to the Edge. she dont know it yet, cuz its for christmas but she picked it out late summer and pulled it back and everythingi just played it out that she should save her money and buy it...she has no idea. she can pull back 40# so i got the 40-50 but they make a 30-40 which would be perfect for yours. you can get one bare from around 175-200$$. Very nice bow i wouldnt mind using it myself.

RE: Ladies bow
thanks for the replies guys. Found a used/brand new Parker buckshot at my local bowshot. Looks like it may have been shot 20 times max. It has zero scratches, zero string wear(sp?); its a 10 out of 10. $125 bare bow, didn't think that was too bad. Set it up with a WB rest, sights off my back up XI bow. Cost break down: bow, new release, new rest, 6 new arrows and new case for 237 out the door? I'm not sure who's more excited she or I. Prissy gurl that's falling in love with hunting, can't wait to see her face when she lays the smack down on a deer:). Sorrry for the silly post but since I don't have kids to introduce, she's the next best thing.

RE: Ladies bow
My wife just started shooting a bow and was looking at new ones. Did a lot of research and am tore between the new Hoyt Kobalt of the Bowtech Equilizer....sounds like you got a good deal
|
RE: Ladies bow
I bought a Parker Challenger for my GF and it is a really nice bow. It is a single cam too, we almost got an Edge but I like the single cam better for her.
