RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
I'm in!
I've bowhunted turkeys for the past two years. I got one the first year, but I got skunked this spring. It's a blast calling and having them respond. It's so much different than bowhunting deer. I like it just as much. |
RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
Still about three more months of predator hunting on my mind, BUT I will be ready for getting a couple of gobblers in KS. with my bow this spring, again.
Notice how the head is kind of chopped off in the pic., there's a reason, and it's called the gobbler guillitine!:D |
RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
Friends we may be, but that dog of yours will feel my wrath one day soon. BAM!

RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
i cant wait! it'll be the first time out with a bow
|
RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
If i get one with my gun first i might try to get my second with my bow. It's tough enough to get one with a gun much less a bow.

RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
What would be easier for a first timer regular broad heads or the gobbler guillitine?
|
RE: Bowhunting Spring Turkeys???
regular broadheads. the guillitine is very effective, but for close range shots only. Plus, you have to change your set-up to use them, plus they aren't cheap and virtually no way to practice with them without ruining the blades. Also don't fit in your usual arrow quiver very well.
I'd suggest a good quality 1.5" - 2" mech. broadhead and shoot for the pump station. |
