I saw a show where someone used an old motor home as a blind.

On Realtree Road Trips a while back they were hunting in TX and using an old big rig cab as a blind. A little blonde haired bombshell country singer named Miranda something smoked an absolute giant out of that thing. It was a great show.

Used a small pop-up blind this year. That is the closest I have come to being "indoors" in the outdoors.

Wait wait wait just a second.... You guys are bashing people because they use a blind that is not a traditional blind. Well I hate to say it 20 years ago tree stands were thought to be a crazy idea. What does it matter what type of blind or setting you use. The biggest buck I ever killed (193") was out of a an corn storage unit. I studied that deer found his travel routes and the best way to get him was in that unit. In my opinion there is no difference from using a double blind or a tree stand 25ft in the air than using any other type of blind. Unless you hunt strictly on the ground with out any type of cover besides camo, you don't have much to say. Just my opinion.

?? I don't see where anyone is bashing anyone in their responses. Different strokes for different folks.

Hey Drop-unfortunately I don't think the deer are "braving" the elements when it's raining/snowing/cold. They are much better equiped than us to handle that crap!! :D

One time I went rifle hunting with a friend on his dad's property. They had one of those elevated box blinds and, as we drove up, I noticed there was electricity running to it. Got up there and it had a heater, TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, carpet on the floor and a couple of comfy chairs. We sat there watching football, just like we were at home in the living room. About 5:00 we turned off the TV and looked off down the sendero. Some 10 minutes later, two bucks walked out, about 75 yards away.He took the buck on the left, I took the one on the right. On the count of three, boom, boom and we had two deer.

It was a grueling hunt. ;)

I saw that too. But dont see the problem? It was an OLD garage with no lights or anything and they were sitting on the edge just enough to be out the wind bc it was liek a blizzard for most of the hunt. That thing was basically part of nature. I wouldnt be suprised if a deer has bedded in it before to escape wind and thats hunting in their territory isnt it? I dont think i would want to be 20-30 feet up in a tree with that kinda weather either. PLus, he was hunting with his 9 or 10 year old ltitle girl.

One place I hunt has 3 old houses on it, and I'm not above ducking in there in bad weather.

I have some spots close to the house that are deer killin spots, but there is something about being back in the woods where many people will never attempt to travel to. I live for that feeling of being alone and no one knows where you are.
