RE: Matt. Draw photos.
I'd definately go a little shorter, maybe just a 1/2". Because you are VERY extended.

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
Yes, you are slightly overdrawn. I would recommend you going slightly shorter, perhaps a 1/2 inch and if that's not as comfortable you can always make it up with the string loop. Many people forget about the string loop when they order a bow. I shot 29" all my life through my Hoyt days. When I bought my Allegaince, knowing I would put my first string loop on it I ordered a 28.5" Allegaince...My General, I'm waiting on a 28" module and will tweak it with my string loop.

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
A couple things for sure even from that angle........yeah your draw length is a bit too long. Here's how I can tell:
Your bow arm is locked and almost hyperextended and uncomfortable looking and you are heeling the grip badly. Your bow arm shoulder is also rotated upward and too high (Should be down in a locked position) Your elbow should point more downward than straight out to the side........roll your shoulder down a bit and it will take the elbow with it. You are also leaning backward quite a bit trying to fit your body behind the draw. You are anchoring too far back. You need to shorten up the reach on that release to bring your hand more forward. I would say you need to drop 1/2" to 1" in draw length, add a little bend and proper angle to your bow arm, and bring your hand more forward on the release. It's hard a lot of times to tell if something is too long from one angle but in this case you are IMO definitely set up incorrectly and could use a little coaching on proper form. Like I said before that's not a slam, it's just an issue many new bowhunters run into by not knowing what things should look or feel like. At least now I know why those cams feel like they do for you. |

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
Drop, if not even a 3 to get a full inch and then settle in with tweaking a string loop. That should put you where you need to be.
|
RE: Matt. Draw photos.
I would agree with the #3 module.

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
ORIGINAL: DropTine249 Yea I think that the 3 may be the way to go. Ill try them both, but I hate the feeling of "trying to fit" my bow. I know that this bow, when set up correctly for ME, will feel natural and easy. So, it will take some time, but I have my old bow still. I wont take to the woods with this bow until its natural and I know that I can make an ethical shot at any angle, range or body position, right now Im not confident. |

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
If they have the correct modules in stock, make sure they put the stop post in the correct hole after they change them. ;)
If they don't have the modules ask that they get them in for you. |

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
I agree with Matt/PA.... probably closer to an inch too long. While you're there, take that dang rubber tube off the string and put on a loop.
|
RE: Matt. Draw photos.
matt/pa is right on. prob about an inch long, once that is gone and you can relax your bow arm a little you will be golden. also, until you get used to to bow, use the open grip in hte first pic, it wil eliminate any tourqe and allow you to find the best position in your hand. This bow will feel better than the old one in no time!

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
Listen to Matt/Pa he knows what he's talking about. I'd agree and inch too long. Go with the 3's.

RE: Matt. Draw photos.
While your at it,make sure you readjust the peep if necessary.Right now it looks low but that may just be because of the draw length and you raising the shoulders to get the anchors set.
The draw does look to be long but I doubt just shortening the draw will fix all the issues. BUT,IT WILL HELP. |
