Lub....

I followed the mfr.'s instructions. I went to the woods. I killed deer.

How did it not "work"?

Atlasman, you don't wanna buy it don't it is America and it's your money.
Absolutely agree...........however when I see so many people in general buying the stuff based on nothing more then false claims aimed at desperate hunters I get a creepy feeling like people are being taken advantage of...........which is what this lawsuit boils down to. I have had an extensive scientific and chemistry based education and career including work on several published studies...........I don't expect, or fault anyone for not having that knowledge base to fall back on.............but they shouldn't be punished for it either and taken advantage of by people banking on the ignorance of the general public.

Prove me it doesn't help in my scent control and I'll quit using it.
The laws of physics and the chemical properties of the carbon molecule are all the proof you need. They haven't changed in a long time and never will. They are available for anyone to learn.

Close to 100 days in the field for 40 years tells me it's an advantage and I will continue to use it.;)
I have no problem with that..........I have a "lucky sweatshirt" too............does it do anything?? No, of course not, but I'll grab it every once in awhile just in case ;)

Again this is all just anecdotal stuff..............gregH washes his clothes in plain water and doesn't seem to have any trouble.............doesn't prove anything one way or the other. For every story told there are 10 more out there to contradict it..........They are all meaningless.

Anything out there always has it's doubters.
There's that word again ;) "doubters" "believers" "faith" etc............that should be a major red flag when you are hearing those words coming from someone who is selling you something. You shouldn't have to "believe" advertising............that is why false advertising is a crime.

I just packed my Scent Blocker to head to Nebraska tomorrow to chase Mule Deer. I hope it helps keep mr warm too.
Good luck and I hope it keeps you warm too.

I know it will help with my scent control.
Keep the faith ;)

I don't need to be a scientist. Things in life are not always science and Math, but experience has taught me that not some report. Doctors said my Dad was gonna die several years ago, but he just turned 72 this month and can still do anything I can. I guess Doctors are never wrong either.;)

Dan
I'm very glad your dad is still around. Good luck again in Nebraska...........take some pics (clothes ON please) [:o]

I never said it eliminates all human scent. Anybody would know better than that. I do believe it helps cut the strength of the scent you leave. Like I said it is a part of a Scent Control regimen. Scent control is something you either go at 150% or you might as well forget it and just hope the wind is always at your chin. Sure I hunt with the wind in my favor as much as possible (even Anal about it) but if you can hunt a Bear Bait, Water hole, or even a Rattling/Decoy setup for Whitetails and tell me where the animals are always going to come from, then you are hunting different beasts than I am. Ever tried a stalk and the wind swirl for just a few seconds? I want an advantage when that happens, and I'll continue to use anything that gives me an advantage:DAfter all I have to wear clothes might as well be Scent control clothes;)

Dan
Very well said!

I agree in doing everything possible to cut down my scent. I actually wear 2-3 layers of scentlok (Base layers, Savanah, and a outer suit depending how cold it is) butI ALWAYS play the wind.

I look at it that ifI need to have these clothes on anyway it might as well be Scentlok and give me the extra advantage of scent control. Does it work everytime? No. But I know it doesn't hurt and I believe it cuts down a lot ofmy scent. For the added cost wearing it compared to all the money I put into bowhunting I would be foolish NOT to wear it.

I will throw down some cash when I get home and do a little experiment with some ScentLok gear. When I proof that it doesnt work, will you still "believe" that it does? It should be a fun little test :)

Funny thing about people that put all their stock and "beliefs" in anecdotal stories is that they only seem to focus on the stories that back those "beliefs"...............all other stories they have no interest in.

Weird.

Here's what I want to see happen ONE time.

The guys from the independent lab that tested the scent-lok.......I'd like to see a list of his credentials. The guy with the biggest mouth attempting to contradict the first guy.......I'd like to see a list of his credentials, too.

Somebody's full of ****.

What's amazing to me is the amount of energy that people who have NEVER TRIED and have NO INTENTIONS of EVER trying.....spend on dispelling the FACT(s) that many, many scentlok customers are completely satisfied with their garments....and that they've been MORE successful while wearing them.

Kinda like someone who has never gun hunted going out of his way to tell others how lame or "easy" it is??

I was wearing scent-lok when I killed my two biggest bucks. Dispel that.

I was wearing the same sweatshirt when I killed all 3 of my bucks this year..........do you think I could market it and make claims that one had anything to do with the other??

RE: scentlok lawsuit???

well, lubricious, some people would rather NOT know they spent their $$ on snake oil... which often explains why I never jump on any "latest/greatest" tech until its proven... for me, havin used activated carbon in my many salt/fresh water fish tanks over the years, i know for a fact that it doesn't last longer than a month or so before scent absorption is gone and i can't justify the cost of it for the short duration it would actually be useful, in a perfect world where it is delivered in a sealed container, this stuff might have more "cred" if it was also delivered in a 100% sealed container as well instead of just hangin on the rack absorbing scents from every thing around it... new gear every season? where can i sign my divorce papers...... imho, its cheaper and just as effective to simply practice good scent control on your body and standard clothing...

now, all that said, i'll change my opinion if someone can prove (other than anecdotal evidence, which seems to be the norm) that it actually does work better than the same amount of standard clothing with proper scent control practices... i'm open minded, but its gotta be shown to be effective... i like the concept, but have doubts about its effectiveness... especially when you attach a $ value to it... in the meantime, i'm gonna stay away from it until the results of the lawsuit are given as the plaintiff's will have to provide scientific evidence to the effectiveness of the scent blocker claims... should be interesting to see what the pro-scent blocker folks say if they lose the suit...

The guys from the independent lab that tested the scent-lok.

You mean the lab that was fined millions of dollars for falsifying results for clients who paid them to do "tests"??

That infomercial is nothing short of embarrassing and looks like something that would be on TV at 3:00 am.

Somebody's full of ****.
My money is on the lab with a shadey history............pay an independent lab enough money and they will come up with a "test" showing grass isn't green.

Atlas...If you're implying I said either of these things....you're barking up the wrong tree. I've hunted with a gun my whole life.......just not for deer. I never made any claims like you cite.

I was wearing the same sweatshirt when I killed all 3 of my bucks this year..........do you think I could market it and make claims that one had anything to do with the other??
You're mistaking "Correllation" with "causation". You're also implying I'm doing the same. What I want to see is....YOUR list of credentials against the sceintist who says it works. One of you is a Bozo....and is up to his eyeballs into being full of ****.
