Assuming your not speaking late season which starts the day after Christmas, the 2008 fall season I'd lay money down will start on the 4th of Oct.

i believe Rob is correct...count 2 weeks back from Thanksgiving, which is the 27th...that gives you nov 15th for the last day...then 6 weeks before that would be the opener...Oct 4....Rifle season starting Dec 1, Bear season starting nov 24-26....all depends on Thanksgiving....

Fall archery season 2008. I have to schedule my vacation the first of January. I'm thinking it will start on the 4th of October, the six weeks will take you to the 15th of November, then a week, then the week of Thanksgiving, then the first day of Buck would be on December 1st. Sound right ???????

I'd bet yer wrong hatchet. That would start us too early and end us too early in relation to the other seasons. If history repeats itself, it'll start Oct 4th. It's always the 1st Saturday of Oct BUT depending on where that Saturday falls. This past year was Sept 29th but they won't back it out to the 26th but move it forward to the 4th of Nov. Like mauser06 said, back out from Thanksgiving etc....the seasons fall right in line. If you start on the 26th of Oct and end it 6 weeks later there will be 3 weeks in a lull. I'd be surprised otherwise.

I'd like to see it open on the 26th of Sept and go to the 15th of Nov, that'd be 7 weeks. ;)

I was wrong!! It starts on Sept 27th and ends Nov 8th. It starts the first saturday after the early archery doe season, which ends on Sept 26th.I got the dates from the PA Outdoor News Sportsman Calendar 2008.

Why on Earth would they cheat us out of the 10-15th. Not that I'll be here cause I'll be in IL the 10th through the 15th of Nov. :D But still!

I wonder if that is a misprint. That completely goes against how the schedule has always been set. So we have 3 weeks between the end of archery and the start of rifle?

I know, I question it as well.

I would bet with you rob! October 4th. Next year is a leap year isn't it? Everything is a week later! But I would not put anything past the game commission on cheating us of the best time in the woods!

No, the PGC has petitioned the state to move Thanksgiving a week earlier in PA only so that there will be 2 weeks between the end of regulary archery and buck season. They will do anything to screw us bowhunters.;)

(This is, of course, completely fabricated.)

The season ended on the 10th this year. I don't see that much of a difference from this year to next year. It would start and end just 2 days early on both ends of the season. If the Outdoor PA is w right on their dates. I gess!!
