Going to try Rocket Stricknines...
Just picked up a 3 pack of Rocket Stricknines on ebay for 6 bucks, shipping included.
I figure at that price I couldn't pass. Anybody else use the Stricknine, or the Hammerhead? Please, no Rage posts..... |
RE: Going to try Rocket Stricknines...
I've used the Hammerhead. Kills turkeys dead, and my second arrow into my buck wasa Hammerhead....Pretty wicked.I will say though, at a distance of 18 yards, right through the bread basket...No complete pass through. Buried up to the fletching, sticking out the other side, but still in there.
The thing I REALLY don't like about them.....when the blades sweep back they cut into my arrow....I've got 3 notches in it, rendering it useless. |
RE: Going to try Rocket Stricknines...
Do they use rubber bands to hold the blades? Not bashing Rocket and I don't remember the model, but a buddy of mine shot through a 8 pt. this season and none of the blades opened. His model used rubber bands to keep the blades in until contact. When he retrieved his head the rubber band was still holding the blades. No vitals hit and the buck survived.

RE: Going to try Rocket Stricknines...
I used the Hammerheads for about 5 seasons. I loved them and killed a bunch of deer with them. Huge holes and massive bloodtrails. What I didn't like about them was they are pretty much a one shot and scrap em head. And like mobow said when I went to the FMJ arrows, as the opened up they cut thru the washer (that stops the bladesin the open position)and damaged my arrow. But they will definately open up a hole and do some damage.
I now use the R*** and love them. |

Cougar, yes they have a rubber band mid shaft to hold them closed. I've never heard of one like you described.
