Is it possible to be allergic to deer meat?

I love deer meat but it seems like every time I eat some my stomach goes crazy. It is possible to be allergic to it? I have never heard of anyone but I have heard of people that are allergic to beef.

Anyone?

There was a post a while back about being allergic to the deer itself when skinning, and
4 or 5 people said they were pretty allergic. I guess it's possible, but I would think being allergic to
the deer (as opposed to cooked meat) would be a lot more common.

Maybe you cooked a spoiled deer or your cook doesn't know his way around the kitchen.;)

Anything is possible. However it could be that your digestive system is outta whack. It takes alot to digest meat as compared to other items we eat. Does this just happen with steak or with burger too?

The reason I ask is because I have had a simular problem. The burger didn't bother me but the steaks and chops did.

I reckon it's possible....I would think it could also be something the deer eat.

I think it has to do with how"rich" venison is compared to beef...........It is way leanerand more dense meat, ever notice that if you ate the same amount of beef you don't get as full as you do eating venison?

I dont know what the deal is guys. I have no problem with beef or pork but it seems every time I eat deer meat my stomach gets really upset.

I have eaten it twice after getting my doe a few weeks ago and both times it has happened. I have never been a vegetarian either. I suppose I could try a different processor to see if that makes any difference but I wouldnt think it would.

I am about to say the heck with it even though I love eating venison. I have no idea if that caused my hair to fall out either! LOL!:D

I'd almost say it's not only a possibility but fact. My buddy is allergic to whatever it is that may be on or in deer hair. When he helped me drag one to the truck, he developed hives on his arms just from contact.

With people allergic to alcohol, peanuts, and such, I don't see this out of the realm.
