Default Double Bull Blinds exposed to Weather?

I am thinking of putting out my DB Blind for late season bowhunting. I would like to leave it out until the end of the season, which is another month. Has anyone had any problems with the blinds getting beat up or ruined from weather exposure? We have sub zero temps and 10" of snow coming. But I want the deer to see it a few times before I hunt it.

Thanks,

Mine have been out for the last three weeks with temperatures dipping close to the zero degree mark. We've got about four inches of snow so far and it hasn't seemed to effect the blind at all. Sitting in it, however, in 6 degree weather is like sitting in a refrigerator. Bring plenty of hand warmers and a small heater if you can.

I believe the constant sunlight will fade them some too.

It will certainly help the deer accept it as part of the landscape if you will leave it out. It has been my experience that a quick set up works well for turkeys, but deer tend to hang up 50-60 yards out.

On the other hand, I have put mine up and waited two weeks before hunting in it and have had deer pay no attention to it whatsover unless they were downwind.

It will fade some so the more you can place it where it will have shade during noon to mid afternoon will minimize this effect.

Also, stake it down really good and use the outside ties as well if you are going to leave it so the wind does not uproot it.

I don't have a double blind, but do have 2x other hub style blinds......an Ameristep and an Eastman. Both have been out since mid September. Last year my Ameristep was out for 3 months straight. Hasn't affected them at all except for some sun fade. I will recommend you tie them down well including all corners and all 4 hubs......the wind can and will collapse the hubs and may do it in a manner that can damage them.

I had some el cheapo blinds and yes they do take a beating if you leave them out there.

I don't care what kind of pop up blind it is.....(and I own a DB Matris)....10" of snow is heavy on the roof of anything.

It'll cave, IMO.

Yeah GMMAT those are my thoughts also. I think I will wait until after the snowfall to set it out. I will be there hunting anyway right when the snow lets up so it will not be a problem.

You could always make a pole to hold the center hub while your not hunting. That should shed most of the snow off the top.

Good luck with the stakes also. We already have some frost in the ground.
