Big J-you must be talking about the stretch of I 40 between Raleigh and Chapel Hill. The interstate looks like it's been painted red this time of year.
We took two days to make the trip, my wife and kids aren't good at long car rides so we stopped somewhere in Virginia for the night and drove the last 4hr in the morning.

I actually rolled through there at about 11:30AM and I was still seeing deer! Yep there was dead deer everywhere on I40.

I live south west of there, near Charlotte and it isn't anything like that. I wish it was.

I took I64 to I77 Toll Road south through West Virginia. We stayed in Wytheville Virginia for the night.

Great drive, I've done it a few times and I enjoy it every time. It reminds me of driving through the Rockies....only not as steep and not as many truck run-offs. I swear there is one every mile through the Rockies.

When you came through Charleston and passed the Capitol you were only about ten miles from my house. It is a beautiful drive. But nothing going through the mountains where our sky areas are.

We ALL need to quit complaining, and HUNT these animals. Not just assume that because we dont see them while hunting, that they are not there.
But it makes us feel better to complain about it!! It's not our fault it MUST be that there are no deer around![&:]

I have no idea what you're talking about....[&:]

Yes. We have a REALLY good population of deer. Nope...I don't see the numbers of big bucks you saw. Wish I did.

Nothing to see here in NC......move along.

The grass is always greener somewhere else. I spent years driving hours to huntonly to find guys who drove hours to hunt in my backyard.
