Silent, Your right with that. This is sure making my friday go by nicely. Hell I hav'nt even seen a Bowtech in person but i'll tell you what my bow will still shoot the S&%$ out of any game I point it at.Maybe when my bow wears out i'll buy the Bowtech, but by that time another company will ride the train and be better and we will be talking about then. You gotta love compatition because we always win.

Newshooter,
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
I was only saying who cares about speed

So it's safe to assume you shoot a recurve, or a compound set at 40#? Hey who cares about speed? Let's make it shootable

quote:
Did it ever occur to any of you that if Mathews wanted to make bows faster than Bowtech they would. What, you don't think Mathews has the technology?

I wonder about that when I see the Black Max 2 being brought out TO TRY AND COMPETE with EVERY bow in the Bowtech line and coming up with a Brace so low only the Hooter Shooter doesn't bleed.

I think Mathews makes great bows. Shoot really nice. But they won't stay on top for long without making some major advancments.

NEWSHOOTER, if speed isn't such a big deal, why do I talk to so many people, especially women & short draw archers, that are getting BowTechs? To get the speed they can't get out of their short draw Mathews.

The really funny thing to come of all this was the loyal waiting to see the new innovations from Mathews at the ATA show with every one was second guessing.
Now what did they come out with LIMB POCKETS which IMO should have been fixed 3 years ago.
A new bow which looks like a grown up Legacy.
I think that Matt is going to have to listen to the customers and archery in general.
The trend now is back to Dual cams but Mathews are sticking to singles mainly because they backed themselves into a corner and will have to do a complete about face and say "well 10 years or so ago the single cam was the way to go but with advancements that have been made in the last few years dual cams are better".

There are more and more companies producing duals these days.
I am sure they are doing it for a reason.

I am not knocking Mathews in anyway they make a good product but seem to be stuck in the mud a little.

When I posted my thread I didn't really realize the coming of the cat claws. I just thought I'd let you guys here from one perspective of the company that is involved.Instead of all these people saying this and saying that.and the b.s. sounding to get this snowball effect.I was going to buy a Q2. It was set up for me and I test shot it.It was smooth as hell. It was cronoed 252 fps. Then my brother in law started his own archery business He first went to Mathews, because thats what He was using. They really didn't want to work with him. so he tried a bowtech and they were able to work with him to selling their bows. Then he had me try a Patriot. With my set up I'm shooting at 287fps,its extremely forgiving, and quiet, and smooth as silk.So having that and being that much faster? NO brainer to what to go for.It seems that Mathews people have been knocking down everybody in the world. But Bowtech has been steadly getting more popular. And the mathew shooters are getting very defensive when people are talking about Bowtech.Their is always room for more than one on the top.

speed means a lot to me.i always shot at 70#. last year i went down to 60# a lot easier on the shoulder. this year going to go to a 50# bow a lot easier and more of a pleasure to shoot.but i need ke for elk hunting im thinking of a 50# dc with a 71/2+ brace hieght from bowtech.last year i got a pat 60# loved the bow smooth and fast.im getting older and smarter if i can get back most of the ke i loose from going to 50# from 60# speed is very important to me. most people well tell you the dc will have a harsher draw cycle but anything set at 50# is just going to be 4 times as smooth as compared to 70# i think im going to love this bow. by the way im going from righty to lefty right eye getting old to. so i will take all the speed they can deliver and put it to shooting a heavy arrow for more ke

you can use your pepper spray my 12 gauge with 3 inch slugs works fine
