asking for tips on tracking.need help

last night at twlight i shot a muley doe, the shot was in the front left shoulder. When i shot her she jumped up and hauled ass down the mountain. The arrow didnt pass through it was is pretty solid.I did not pursue, i just went to the spot i shot her and GPSed the location. this is my first year archery hunting and unfortunately i did not anticipate this part of the hunt, any ideas will help.

My experience is mule deer run to cover when hurt and whitetail run to water, if available. Your deer is out there and will be coyote food if you don't find it. You should find it for your own learning and peace of mind. MV out!
