Wind effect deer activity?

It was 85 today and tonight a cold front is finally going to get here! Tomorrow's high is not going to get above the high forties but the winds are sopossed to be 20 to thirty all day. Should i even bother going out with the wind this high?

RE: Wind effect deer activity?

In my opinion it depends on a number of other factors. I have hunted, seen lots of movement and killed deer on very windy days...when that windy day was right before a storm front and heavy weather event. In that situation I think they realize what is happening and know that they better move/eat now...before the heavy rain/snow/whatever. IF that high wind is only a high wind and nothing is behind it...I think they tend to lay low until it passes.
I have no doubt that they feel a difference in barometric pressure and know when things are going to happen. I figure they are much better at predicting the weather than our professional weather folks.
My .02
Good luck.
