Land or trips??? edit for clarity
Here's a GMMAT question for you guys
If you had the choice of owning land (modest chunk in the state you presently live in or hunt the most) or being able to afford to go on a nice out of state(guided or unguided) trip or two each season, which would you choose? If you try to afford the land....no money left over for trips, even the most basic DIY. If you skip on the land you pretty much have free choice of trips to wherever your heart desires(barring africa or HUGE money trips). EDIT Maybe something got lost in the translation of the original question? IF you took the land, you could never afford to hunt anywhere BUT that land. No heading out of state visiting HNI buddies, no hunting trips of any sort. Give up all trips for the rest of your life, or own an averagechunk of property? |
RE: Land or trips???
Land in Boundary County Idaho. That way I could be on it or working on it year around. Then I would share it with all my friends and family.

RE: Land or trips???
100 acres in PA or NY.........no question about it.

RE: Land or trips???
Land, no doubt at all!

RE: Land or trips???
Land. They aren't making any more of it.....and I'd LOVE to work my own farm.

RE: Land or trips???
thats not even a question. land for sure!! it is way more satisfying to work your butt off scouting all year round, planting food plots, figuring out bedding areas and travel corridors, hanging stands, and finally shooting that buck you found the sheds of for the last two years! i just dont see the fun in going to an outfitter and getting put into a stand and told to shoot the biggest buck that comes by. 300 acres in the midwest

RE: Land or trips???
Land. Ive already made that choice.;)

RE: Land or trips???
I'm a little suprised at the early results.
So all you guys would take land over ever getting a chance to go out of state for something different? Maybe if the land was in the right stateI could see it. For me land would only mean deer & turkeys. I've got way higher aspirations than that. Elk, bear, pronghorns, as well as getting to hunt deer and turkey in other states. Who knows, maybe even caribou and moose. I don't think I could trade all those potentials for a 100 acres in PA. |
RE: Land or trips???
Own land!!!!! |
RE: Land or trips???
Rybo.....Owning land is a LOT more than just having the deed to it. Hard to explain....and I don't own that much. What I have will be my son's. What his grandpa has will be his.
I could give him the $$ equivalent and it would pale. I hope he feels the same way I do, one day. |
