After a rough season I did feel like a teenager again. There is something about bowhunting that is up close and personal. The good part is I bet I can find land near every small town in Montana that you cannot use firearms.You have to be at least 500 yards from a house to shoot. We have state land set aside here and if a road can get you there, you can hunt without having to get permission.

The best part is training and practice let me make a good shot and recover my game. 40 yards is my limit, even though I wanted to try a 75 yard shot on that big one. Ethics said wait, there will be more chances. MV out!

Happy for you. I shot my first deer at 41....and I've been hooked, sonce. It's verification that you CAN get it done. My congrats to you.

Prediction....from someone with "very little" more experience than you.......

Your self-imposed "effective range" will likely get shorter rather than longer as you gain experience. Mine is considerably shorter than I once thought it to be......and I shoot my bow as much as most.

You've accomplished something that many would love to claim. You should be proud.

MV- congrats! I'm 37 and shot my first doe and buck within the last month....what a great feeling and I don't see it going away anytime soon. nice goin kiddo.
