Atlas..question

I see the great buck you just posted in the contest scoring page. Kudos nice one! But I'm confused. You posted a great touchingstory, and a nice, but somewhat lesser buck.

And then this one shows up in the scoring thread..and I've never heard a story.. Plus the vegatation is still pretty lush? Did I miss something?

Both great bucks and obviously a fantastic season. I'm just confused where the bigger buck came in from?

I probably missed a post somewhere along the line. But I remember reading of your roller coaster season and thought the smaller of the 2 was your first.

That big one showed up before. I think it was even in the same up/down season thread.

although I'm sure it's a sincere question about a misunderstanding, it sounds like you are calling him out.

I should have just waited like I was going to

My intentions were to post a summary of my season and my experiences this year when it was over.........which I will still do. The contest was the last thing on my mind when I posted my NY buck.

The contest buck was killed in Sept.

Dang Atlas....you are moving up in the world! ;)

Nice deer, happy for you man. I didn't get to see or hear about either as I haven't been on much. Looking forward to hearing about them. Congrats!

That one for the contest is a nice deer anywhere, good job!

Thanks.

I figured the story would be better told all at once instead of pieced into 4 or 5 threads over time.

Thanks Mike...........my story may include some time in your neck of the woods........an old college friend has an open invitation for me every year but he only gun hunts so I haven't gone yet. We will see how tomorrow goes for me around here (gun opener).........if I drop a buck I am done in NY so I may just take my buddy up on his offer and pack up the rifle.

I've killed 1 spiker in the last 20 years ...........and I've told tons of people. It's a good story Mo, just wait for it ;)

Either way nice bucks man.

Thanks

Wow, I hadn't seen that other one. That's a lot of antler for a guy who doesn't like "hornporn".

Congrats those are somegreat bucks.

Killing 1 in a year is tough enough, but 2?? Shoot......nice bucks man, congrats.

RE: Atlas..question

I guess I'm just confused. Is there a suggestion that Atlas did something he should not have and what would have been the point?? Lots of reading between the lines on this one.....

RE: Atlas..question

A question was asked cordially and answered respectfully. A nice buck showed up in the scoring thread that I hadn't heard of. Usually a buck of that caliber has a story.

Atlas said he he will post the story at a later date. Any more that you, or others, read into this, will not insight a flame war. The buck was posted today..so I asked about it today..Nothing more.

RE: Atlas..question

There's a lot of people who would have crucified some other forum members for killing two bucks....8 weeks apart and then entering the larger of the two (regardless of the extenuating circumstances....that's what happened......and yes I acknowledge the first buck shot was entered).

Let's just keep it "real", here. Nobody's accusing anyone of anything....just pointing out that it's HIGHLY unusual for this scenario to have taken place the way it did.

Has anyone ever held out scoring and entering a buck until after they've taken their second?

Get a life loser.

RE: Atlas..question

Well Jeff.. My second buck was a much better deer than my first and I did not score the first one until today.

And Gr8 as far ascordial questionI would have thought a PM would have been a better avenue to take and would have been less likely to "insight a flame". If someone is holding a match then it is you. After all you started the thread.

Badger_Girl93 11-16-2007 03:00 PM

RE: Atlas..question

Check out the subject of this post, and then look at forum rule number 15:

15. Posts directed to a specific person can be considered off topic and will be deleted by our moderators.

Planter is right...if this was a legit question and not a public calling out, it would have been equally effective and more appropriatein a PM.

GMMAT 11-16-2007 03:23 PM

RE: Atlas..question

Planter:

You also started a thread asking if you could "upgrade" your entry by counting your second buck.

Like I clearly stated in my post....nobody's accusing anyone of anything. Just stating that it's "highly unusual". I congratulated Atlas for taking both bucks. They're both great animals.

congrats on the deer atlas.

Badger_Girl93 11-16-2007 03:30 PM

RE: Atlas..question

If we are going to keep it "REAL" here, then lets stop tip-toeing around what is evidently going on. True, no one is accusing anyone of anything...DIRECTLY.

But if this were really a cordial question with no ulterior messages or insinuations, then rule 15 should have been followed and none of us would have ever seen the question because it would have been in a PM between atlas and Gr8.

Sorry for that run-on sentence.

Gimme a break Jeff. You missed my tounge in cheek suggestion that I swap out my contest buck for the second better one as a joke when I posted it soI guess I am not the only one with trouble reading between the lines. I sure wasn't hiding anything and posted both my kills before they were cold.

This was not my thread and as the young lady suggested was probably
inappropriate in the first place.I am now backing away slowly sorry to have even responded.

The wind is gonna be howling out of the WNW the AMbut I'm hoping it drops for a couple of hours at dawn. I have my eye on a neat piebald if she cooperates.

GMMAT 11-16-2007 04:56 PM

Good luck with the piebald, Planter......they're beautiful animals;)
