I was thinking the same thing. A nice bear trap hidden in the leaves by the camera would sure wake them up.

I personally wouldn't do that because with mymemory I'll catch myself and with my luck I'll catch the friend I forgot to tell.

Really sucks, disheartening to say the least.

Those aren't hunters. They are thieves and criminals.
Tribal hit the nail on the head.

Sounds horrible guys. I've been lucky so far and only had one treestand stolen. The guy that owns the land says it must not have been someone that knows him or they wouldn't have done it. He said if he'd caught them they would be laying by the stand with a bullet in them, he doesn't even hunt but is a gunsmith and shoots all the time. I'm going to check my camera tomorrow, hope it's still there. Sorry for the loss!

Maybe you should get the word out to the locals like you have, and spend on one of those cameras that send the pics to you in email... not sure how they are set up, but it would be neat to get a you got mail, race down there and run his sorry Arse for a human off the road, get a freakin job. i bought 6 trail cams since i got my new job. we have 250 acres and know all the land owners around, no problems ever...

I'd like to put a 2nd camera on a bait camera. . maybe catch 'em in the act if you got it up high and well hidden.
