my first bow kills
 

I had reconstructive shoulder surgery last year so I bought a brand new ten point crossbow.Every weekend I hunted and saw nothing. I was getting frustrated. I work at bass pro as an archery tech so Ihave helpedset up so many bows and wished everyone luckand whenthey would come back with pictures I would be so jealous. I wished it was me. the last day before gun season my boyfriend and I went up to our land. I set myself up and waited. Magically a button buck appeared about 65 yards away unfortunatly I couldnt call him in. I was still excited months without seeing a deer you start to wonder if they are a mythological creature or something. later that night the same deer came back this time it walked right to my stand. I made a pretty good shot and he ran only about a 100 yards. I was pumped. The next day was rifle season but I had a major blonde moment and forgot bullets which is a key ingredient if you want to shoot. So I decided to use my crossbow again. This time my boyfriend decided to hunt with me in our two man stand. It was really windy and didnt expect to see or hear anything. Right before dark I saw a deer run down into the ditch right in front of us. Jeremy my boyfriend grunted at it and it stopped perfectly 20 yards away. I made a perfect lung heart combo shot. Blood sprayed everywhere! Two kills in two days. It was a great weekend. I hope you like my picture!

Thats a great story. Probably better that you forgot the bullets anyways. I think it always feels like moer of an accomplishment when you take one with a bow. Congrats!!

congrats bowthebeagle,I'm happy for you my season going about the same way yours is not seeing much,but this last sunday i did see a real nicve 8 hoping to get a shot friday evening after work wish me luck i think i'm going to need it lol.If not i'll try for him on opening day of gun season saturday morn but realy wantin to get him with a bow.

well before my shoulder surgery Martin offered me a deal with them but I turned them down because I knew I wouldnt be able to shoot with my bad shoulder.....anyway thanks for everyones comments

for those who have sent me private messages about my boyfriend, yes he does hunt, no he didn't get a deer that weekend, but he just called saying he got a nice 8 pointer.....Looks like we will be cutting up deer all afternoon.....thanks
