How to post bigger pictures?

I tried to post some pictures last week but when I tried to upload them, this site said that they needed to be 100K or less. The pics look nowhere as good little like that....then I see other people posting pics on here that are 4 times as big as the ones that I was allowed to post...what gives? I mus tbe doing something wrong. Thanks for any help all.

Don't use this site to upload your pic's if you want them a bit bigger.Use photobucket(or any other host)
