to goherd1111 I hope you know that mathews is the first to come out with parrel limb desingh, String suppressors, harmonic dampeners, and slimb limb desingh. thats 4 things that this 1st year bowhunter knows now what has Bowtec done besides copy every other bow companys inventions.
Well I suggest you do your homework a little better.

The roller guard patent is owned by Spencer Land. He is the former owner of High Country Archery, so no "Mathews innovation" there.

The harmonic dampers you say? Well not so fast, Mathews licenses with Martin to use the harmonic dampeners in the riser.

Oh, solocam technology. Nope, Martin was the first company to commercially produce a single cam bow.

Oh yeah, slim limb technology. Can anyone tell me why and prove they are a better design?

You might have one with the string supressors, I just will have to look around a little more. :D

It's no doubt that Mathews makes a quality bow, but all of the manufacturers do anymore. I just don't see them moving forward year after year.

Good post Mike! Mathews does make good bows, but like mentioned before Mathews owners seem to get very defensive about this topic. It's all in fun guys!

The same can be said for many other brand owners!;)

Mike,

Thanks for the info. I had no idea about some of the so-called "innovations."

Wow, that Firecat sounds like a winner. Very nice specs, I wonder what the draw cycle is like.

As for the brand wars, any time someone becomes devoted to a brand it's bound to happen. Bowtech guys are just as defensive as soon as you bring up limb twist, cracked limbs, and customer service.

Personally, I am loyal to the bow in my hand and that's it. Then I can just sit back and laugh at the flame wars.

That fire cat does have some great looking specs. However, that black grip and arrow shelf just makes it look cheap if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the bow looks top notch but you would think they could come up with something better looking than that plastic looking black stuff.[:'(]

Not Plastic......space age rubber stuff .... The grip on my Bengal has a soft rubber grip also.

Martins explains it this way, "Integrated Shelf, Grip, and V.E.M. Dampening system"

From those that have played with it .....The draw cycle is very smooth and has a definent wall.

Plastic, space age rubber.....whatever,it still has a "cheap" look to it IMO.
