What brand of climber do you have

Those of you that hunt out of a climber, what brand, and model do you have. Tell me why you like it, or why you dont like it.

I have 2 summits. One bushmaster and one openshot. I like the bushmaster because it has a decent size platform. I like the openshot because its light as a feather, although the platform is a little small.

API grand slam magnum (climber)

I'd like a viper, though.

Predator
Like: Most comfortable stand ever made for long sit.
Dislike: Hard to put on tree and a little heavy to carry in the woods.
BUT: Most confortable if you plan on leaving it somewhere.
Used metal grips not cable and with teeth. Does not move!

Ol'man Grand.

Love it, owned a Summit and sold it. The Ol'man packs nicer, flatter, easier to climb with and I love the mesh seat that sits even with the climbing bar vs the low sitting Summit. The Summit bars can be in the way when very close shots are offered. The Ol'man sits much lower. The Summit would be my second choice.

I use the Summit 180 max. I have been using summit climbers for the past 10 years easy. I lik ethem because they hook up to a tree quickly, quietly and they are strong and safe.

Just bought a summit ss viper this year. Very comfortable, just make sure your lower platform is at the right height, helps take pressure off back of your legs. Adjusted right, could probably sit all day.

I wouldn't mind trying the ol'man grand, as Rob had mentioned though.

Right now I have an API, Buckshot and an Equalizer. I've owned others. Of the ones I now own only the Equalizer gets any tree time. It's not the lightest or the cheapest. It's simply the most rock solid thing going. And the leveling feature when 20 feet up is the absolute nuts. Nothing like it.

Summit Bushmaster
Nice and moderately light
Quiet and hooks up to tree easily
Had it for 4 years with no problems

Equalizer hands down is my favorite climber. Makes no noise when setting up, and you dont have to have it at a steep angle when you start to climb. I also love the straps that hold the platform and seat together, then when ur in position you can tighten it and your seat will be rock solid to the tree. literally.

Summit Razor, I can lower the bar out of the way while on stand and then put it back in place for the decent down the tree.

I have an older model Ol' man, 8 yrs+ old I think. I don't even know the name. Its pretty nice, folds flat and is light. The only thing I don;t like is when in smaller trees the arms are real close together which make it tough to sit there & stand up quietly. I'm a skinny guy too. After all this time and use, still no squeaks. However I might look for a new one next year. I want something with rubber grips that leave NO marks on trees. I don't like people knowing where I hunt, and this thing scuffs the tree enough to easily see that. Especially year after year.

I have the API grand Slam and the Summit Razor, With the Razor I can lower the bar out of the way, the grand slam the bar is solid. But I like theAPI itpacks easier for me. there both great stands.
I wouldn't mind trying the ol'man grand, as Rob had mentioned though. .

Just bought a Summit Viper last week, sat in it 15 hours and packed it for 5+ miles, very easy to pack, very comfortable.

I've had a Port-a-Climb Cadillac for years. It's too tight for my 6'5" frame. [:'(] Not bad for short sits with a gun though. I recently bought a Gunslinger. It's by far the most comfortable stand I've ever put my butt in. Tons of leg room. It's heavy to move around. Definitely a stand to leave on the tree. It's great for long sits though!

I use a summit openshot. I love it because it's only 14 lbs and doesn't have that annoying front bar.

If money were no object, I'd buy a lone wolf hand climber.

I have an API Grand Slam Superstar. The bar swings out of the way and it has a footrest/gunrest depending on what you're hunting with. Very comfortable and solid, a little noisy to set-up unless you're very careful about it.

I bought a lone wolf hand climber this year and have no complaints. My longest sit in it was seven hours and it wasn't bad at all. Its probably not a stand you wanna take a nap in but for mobility nothing beats it IMO.
