What do you guys do with your horns??
 

What do you do with your horns that are not on head mounts? I was thinking of making a bow hanger with a set of horns screwed into a piece of driftwood!

I saw some off and keep them laying around or hanging on nails. Some I stick on these little cheap plaques you can buy. Others I nail to a tree for the squirrels to gnaw on. I don't mount anything anymore. My biggest deer aren't mounted. I've also left a bunch of racks hanging in a hunting club in Georgia.

i have a coffee table with a glass top that you can put things in for decoration.that's where most of mine go

European mounts - boiled in strong solution of Borax for 4 hours, then off the car wash for the high pressure nozzle, finish with 24 hours in a strong Clorox bleach solution. Light spray paint coating of antique white. Hang around perimenter of shop. These look great.

As far as bucks go.... I don't shoot them unless they are worthy of the wall. If I want the meat or am just itching to shoot something, I will shoot a doe.

I have head mounts, plaque mounts, loose antlers and skull mounts but I do have everyone of them.

Rob, you need to do the glass case w/night light like I got its an awsome mount! Great for the nighttime!

I neve hunted a Rhino. so I don't know whatI would do with a horn. I've got lots of antlers though if your ever interested in what I do with them.

Made some cool pens. Made a bad attempt at a knife handle. Ofcourse I have ground many into a special blend for bow season.

I'm grinding up horn now.. I am hoping Viagra (not that I need it) won't feel to threatened.
PS.. The trick is you want horn from young bucks not the old crusty bucks.

There is a post on page 5 or so about sumpin called "buckstumps" . They looked pretty cool and the price seems just fine. I would like to see one in person but I may do a couple I have hanging around that way.
My wife might let me get away with that and they would be fine on the mantle. Just kidding. I am the man and I do what I want when I want!!!!

Hanging on a mirrored coat rack, on top of my bookcase which is covered with a tanned deer hide and use one set as rattling horns.

Try carving scenes in the antler after you have hung everything else.
