Thanks Iowa!
Went down in my car on a do it yourself hunt, found good sign, hung my stands and cameras, put out the decoyand had a great time!
He's no scoring machine but I've never shot an older one that's for sure! Ittook allI had to drag him and get him hung up so I could get to cutting him up and into coolers by myself! The decoy and combination of calls worked like magic that morning! Thanks Iowa! As he lay, my decoy and stand were in the far left of the field. ![]() Gorgeous animal ![]() One big critter! ![]() Like hanging a beef ![]() Here's one of those gnarly bases ![]() The setup that Halloween morning ![]() |

RE: Thanks Iowa!
Thanks again
I did have some property to hunt, some friends of our family. But they aren't hunters, to them a big buck has a REALLY big neck and body. And thats fine with me. They didn't live in the area so I never did get to see them as they were busy trying to get the crops in, it's been extremely wet down there in oct so they were way behind and the fields were still very muddy in some areas I walked around in. It did make for good scouting thou as you could really pick out the mature buck tracks. I slept in a tent/doublebull some and also a hotel to shower up, the camp grounds were closed for winter. It was a very rewarding hunt indeed! |
