you've been hunting a nice shooter buck for a couple years but has always given you the slip . you suddenly hear the rustle of leaves that alerts you to a mature doe coming in . the woods are thick and she makes her way into your only shooting lane at 25 yards. then out of the corner of your eye you see the big buck that was chasing her coming in fast.
as he passes by a big oak you pull back into full draw. he comes right to her and mounts her. you stand there stund for ashort moment as you look down from your 15 foot high stand. they are perfectly broad side and it is way to thick to get a shot if they move. the buck gets a look as if he is about finished{ if its possible that deer have expression} Would
you take the shot and take him out in full action or let him go and not have the heart to take him in that position to hope you see him another day?

Sorry, If it was one that I had been chasing and had consistently given me the slip, I am drillin him anytime he offers an ethical shot. The doe would have to be in the clear. He's had it coming.

If there is a good clear shot at the buck i don't see any reason why not to shoot?

What is the ethical delima here?

What's the difference if he is mounting a doe, feeding, fighting a buck, checking a scrape, making a rub, standing there looking around,etc?

what I'm saying is would you shoot him right off her back. i know i could make the shot its just that he is getting buzzy with the doe ? this is hypothetical and would make for a funny story to go with a mount on the wall

I'd pop him right off her horney back. If he was in such ectasy that he didn't fall off I would quickly reload and drop the doe.
