Wind and deer travel

As the title says, I am curious on others observations on if deer change the way they travel based on the wind? Now obvisouly if there is a specific trail to get to a field for example they will take that regardsless of the wind. But curious to see what others think on this one.

I truely beleive that a buck, a nice buck that is will travel most of the time with the wind in his face! Like you said though most deer will take there specific trail no matter what the wind is, mostly done by doe's and small bucks i think.

In my experience yes...but not the way you are thinking. I have see deer in the late cold season take different route to avoid the cold wind, but as far as purposely changing trails/direction for scent purposes no. Usually only after danger/suspicion that something is up do they circle and get downwind of the problem area.

Also, when you thinkk about it, ou still want the wind in your face regardless of whether the deer are changing routes or not.
