Poundage needed to shoot rages
 

I dont bowhunt much and my little brother loves it.He shoots a 47lb browning micro adrendline.Is 47lb draw enough to shot a 2?3?blade 100gr rage broadhead?

Yeah that is enough, but be careful of hitting bone, those rage's bounce out if hit in shoulder. I hit the same ten pointer twice that I have been hunting for two years now. He is finally mature at age five. My arrow only went in about an inch the first time when I hit the shoulder and about three inches the second time when I hit rib and shoulder, they like to deflect. He is still chasing does and acting like nothing happend so I took myself out of the woods for bowhunting. My friend shot a doe in the guts and she died about thirty yards due to massive internal damage. And tonight he shot a big twelve a little back and took about half the insides out of the deer. So my advise is tell him to aim about six inches back of the leg and try to catch liver, lungs and if he hits guts that isn't so bad with the rages. I shoot a seventy pound bowtech with 300 grain arrows and have busted shoulder with muzzys no problem in fact had passthrus on both deer. Shouldn't of tried fixing what wasn't broken.

Should he shot a 3blade or a 2blade?

I hear that the three blade doesn't always open up on impact. And the two blades I never heard any problems with opening on impact. Just make sure he stays away from bone, (easier said then done). If he is starting out I would go with a fixed blade then he doesn't have to worry about the blades deploying in the quiver or when drawing back, There is a shock absorber on both that holds the blades in place, if he is missing one they don't fly correct.

I would go with something like a Magnus Stinger at that poundage. It may be enough but thats all it may be, just enough.

I would not advise anyone shooting that set up to shoot any mechanical head. That's just my opinion.
I would advise a good cut on contact head.
