There are a lot of people who could make a 48 yard shot nearly every time. There are many more who can't but would try it anyway because they shot a good group at 50 yards once.

Repeat after me folks....Arrows do not fly strait through brush. If you find an opening that is another matter

do some testing with BH through different kinds of brush trying to hit a target and you will understand better.
Niether. I will not take a shot that far at an unwounded deer. Not saying others shouldnt. Some guys have confidence at that range. I can hit where I want but I simply do not have the confidence that the deer will not move during the shot...or something else may go wrong...andI do not shoot ifI do not have confidence.

For me it would be niether.
First off unless there is an opening threw all that stuff that i know i could make aleathel shot? Iwould simply pass.
I would rather see him walk awayand try to get him another day[&:].
About the 48yrd shot not for me! I have taken a few deer with long shots but i have also lost a deer or twofor that same reason.
I have learned not to take shots out my effective range even though i practice long shots don`t mean i will take on on an live animal.
Other hunters may be better shot`s than me at long distance`s but i think each hunter needs to know there limitations and not ever compriomize them no matter what size game there hunting.

I guess for me this would highly depend on how close he was to the brush, if the brush was at 17 yards and he was at 20 yards i wouldnt take the shot, because of to much chance of the arrow being deflected but if he was right on the other side of it theres a good chance id take it.

Don't forget about those of us who could easily make a 48 yard shot, but refuse to shoot at game that far away. That's just not what bowhunting is about, not for me anyway. If I can't get within 30 yards, I haven't earned the right to draw my bow.
