Default did i mis the rut in northern WI

Did i miss the rut in northern WI or did it not start yet because i went out last night and nothing was chaseing on the feild were they normally chase

I don't think you've missed anything yet. The does aren't ready yet and the bucks just acting like a bunch of dorks.

IMO the rut is very late this year. I'm seeing lots of mature bucks ALONE yet. I never hardly see that this late. This weekend should still be good for chasing.

Yeah like the others said, i've been out every night and the peak rut is yet to come (about a week or so). The bucks are have been fighting for dominancy but most of the bigger bucks still aren't working real hard to find does. The other night in the field i was in 6 different bucks came out and there was 22 does out with them and they were more content fighting witheach otherthan even acknowledgeing the does, at least the bigger bucks. So like the others said just make sure to get out this next week because guns just around the corner and this last week is going to be great for WI as far as the rut goes!

Most breeding will occur in the Nov 10-24 time frame...so no you haven't missed the rut but bucks should definetly be in the chase phase right now which is the best time to be hunting IMO.

ya i was out 99% of the time this weekend and i only had one buck chasin g a doe that was all the chasing i saw except for the chasing the squirrels were doing
