Baking Soda and Boots

I wear the canvas/leather boots. I just dont like the preferable rubber boots. Will putting baking soda in my boots cut down on the scent that released from the boots while i wear them.

It will help alot! Whats the big deal on not getting yourself some rubber boots? Just curious. There fairly cheap.

cost isnt a factor at all. I find them to be heavy and stiff.

I put some in my boots a couple weeks ago becuase i was hunting four days in a row, so I figured it would help with the odor. I think it seemed to work, but after the hunt i took off my boots and my socks were rather hard. I guess the mixture of sweat and backing soda made them get hard when they dried. It seemed to keep my odor down though.

Go check out some Muck Woody Max boots. Light and comfortable compared to most rubber boots. I think they might be more comfortable than my Nikes :)

I hate rubber boots too. My feet freeze in them. I sprinkle a tad of baking soda in them once inawhile, and I also use some scent elimination powder made by H.S. I forget what it's called. I use some insoles that have some kind of odor eliminating charcoal implanted into them too I picked up that the local drug store.

I actually think that breathable cordura boots stink less than rubbers as your foot sweat is allowed to evaporate and NOT get trapped in the rubber boot and turn into odor causing bacteria.
