If titleist were one of the guys that has hunted that land for twenty years , I think I know what he and everyone else here would be saying.

Titleist, I can relate to what You're going through. Been there Myself. That is why I hunt public ground now. I'm thinking that even if You out-bid this bozo on the lease for that ground, He'll make sure that Your hunting is messed up, in one way or another. Anybody that resorts to the terroristic tactics that He's using will be more than willing to go one step further. He could start killing anything with antlers on the property BEFORE the archery season starts, or come in after dark and put bait piles around the property and then call the wardens, or steal and destroy Your stands, etc. I've witnessed all of the above mentioned tactics in use when I hunted private, leased ground. Good luck, because it will more than likely get a lot uglier than what it has already. I'm hoping, for Your sake, that the ground is worth all the money You'll be shelling out for the hunting rights. In certain instances, the lawless will prevail, in one way or another. Good hunting.

bowfanatic,

Sorry about the common misconception about owning a golf course. I'm far from the rich golf course owner. I'm a normal middle class citizen who owns a small 9 hole course in a little town. I work my arz off!!! And nodose hit it right on the head with his last post. we don't owe these people a thing. 20 years of lying and chasing people off land that's not theirs??? They deserve everything they get. They should lose priviledges.

I think Bowfanatic has a pretty good point.
If a man and his sons lease a property, who are you to go talk to the landowner and get the guy out of there? He was there first, and he leased it first. If you went to the landowner and ruined what I had, I wouldn't take it lying down either.

DARN Golf course people!!!<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Not knowing the true extent of the landowners relationship with the other guys.... it's hard to give a RIGHT answer. I suspect if it becomes TOO much of a headache he'll just throw everyone out. That said, I'd try and rent the joint and I'd offer enough to make sure it didn't become a bidding war. If it did, I'd walk.

Take a video camera, document everything, and talk to the landowner. If they didn't lease the land and only had permission, the landowner can give permission to anyone he wished. If the these people leased the land, the landowner technically doesn't have a right to allow others to hunt depending on how the lease is written.

IF you rightfully have permission on a nonleased property and these people are still rude, obnoxious, etc.....get there arse kicked off for good, they don't sound like sportsmen, and I doubt everything they follow all the game laws. Civilized people shouldn't act the way they are acting. You tried to reason from the begining, now bury them.

6pt. the guy doesn't lease it he writes his name on the posters so people will call him instead of the landowner so he can lie and say he owns it all. That's been the case for 20 years. The more and more i hear about this bozo the worse it gets. He's trying to lock up the whole county. And David and you others I can be objective and see where you guys are coming from. I would probably not be overly enthused if the situation was reversed, but bottom line is......... he doesn't own it. The only reason he's been the only one hunting it for so long is because he's deceitful. To everyone including the landowner. As far as the relationship with the landowner. They don't have one. This guy lives a couple roads down and has gone to every farmer in the area wanting to put his name on the signs to chase every single hunter in the town away. As I do agree that he has been there a long time and he feels like we've invaded him. And I do agree with those of you that say I wouldn't like it either(cause I wouldn't). But I'm just saying he has gone about it wrong and now it leaves a sour taste in my mouth knowing what kind of people they are. So, maybe I'm not doing the right thing by even pursuing hunting there i don't know. But I don't feel a guy that goes through those measures to lock up pieces of land should get any consideration. Not from me anyway.

titleist - that's it in a nutshell. The property owner is the only person who can give or deny permission. Video tape some of the other parties actions covertly then expose them to the landowner. This might get rid of them if the owner sees what's going on.

As far as the amount of years the original party has &quot;invested&quot; figures absolutely nothing into the equation. It is not their land, they have no rights to it. Period.

Nor do they have the right to interfere with your permission to be there. In many states it is a crime to cause ill effects or interfere with the lawful pursuit of wildlife. Check out your states laws and document it with video. Maybe this would draw action from either the Game Warden, DNR, etc...

does the landowner and/or his family golf? :-P

seriously...it seems as if the landowner has enuff info to kick them out....IF he was going to which it seems he is not. Is it really worth trying to share it with them having to put up with their BS and risk of damaged and stolen equipment.

you are correct when you say that bottom line it is the landowners descision...doesnt seem to me like he is willing to run them off and you have to live with that.
