Man these heads look like they will do some damage, Does anyone shoot them?

I have two buddies that shoot them. I bought a pack once but I never shot anything with them. I found them hard to sharpen, and even harder to keep sharp. They are also extreamly expencive. Alot of people like my buddies just sharpen them to a "feathered" (kind of like serrated) edge with a file. They do penetrate very well and in my opinion perform better than any other broadhead when shot into a bone. I would get the 165 grain broadheads becuase they seem work best. They are fine broadheads but overpriced IMOP.

I have used these heads for years and they are a most lethal choice, they are a little on the heavy side , but they put a "GOD AWFUL" hole in an animal and the blood trails are legendary! I have never had a deer that was hit with one anywhere between the front legs and the rear legs travel further than 100 yards, most expire within 40.

I plan on testing them when I can get some for testing. I know some people who shoot them, not personaly, but by reputation and emails. I respect their opinions a great deal, and they swear by the Simmons heads.

Simmons sharks are awesome heads.The guy who makes them Jerry Simmons is a tradiontal archer who has killed a gazillion deer.Ther are imho more suited to a tradional set up.I would'nt try to get em to fly at high speeds.Maybe with a full helical 5 inch fletch and a drop away rest.

I first bought them (the 125 grain LandShark) for use with my recurve and longbow. In talking to the Simmons crew (FYI Jerry is pretty much retired as of recently) they convinced me to try them with my compound (Browning Mirage SX set at 65lbs shooting carbons). Well, they fly like darts....straight darts. I made no adjustments to my sight, rest, etc. and they flew exactly like my field tips. I had tried Muzzy 3-blades just prior and they were noticeably off compared to the field tips. I gave some to a friend (local pro shop owner) and he had the same experience with how they flew. My long-winded point is don't be afraid to try them with your compound set-up (I would just stay away from the big monster 190 or 205 grain heads myself).
