"Butt-Out" tool.

Maybe I'm not understanding the concept.

You still have to cut the thing, right? (If you use this tool)

Anybody out there just cut around the whole thing (no pun intended)?

RE: "Butt-Out" tool.

I got one as a joke for card night with the boys but tried it on a doe just for fun. I found it pretty useless and used my knife the next time around.
It should come in the same package as the scrape maker...
The only good thing I found was that being blaze orange I did not have to worry about someone shooting my deer in the Azz...

I'm kinda being serious guys. I guess the premise is you extract the colon....tie it off in two spots and cut in between.

That's the only thing I can think of.

I have always just cut around it, then from the inside cut through the intestine behind the pelvis... when I get back tot he house, I take a sawzall and cut through the pelvis and pull all the rest out.

I'm kinda not,;)

Jeff where you hunt you could probably find something on a "swing set" or "jungle jim" that would do the same thing.

I did what the directions said .. Insert flush and a half a twist or something and pull out. Did not work and I deffinately violated her (the doe) . I see no advantage over a knife but I would try it again. I do leave it in the truck though cause I DO NOT need any more junk in my pack.

I used mine on the button buck i shot and it worked awesome! It's a great idea and worked really well for me. took me about 5-10minutes and i was done gutting.

Worked for me also. Took half the time of using a knife.

Jeff, when I'm down and if we down one, I'll show you what I do, no need for that tool whatsoever for me.

i use my knife...i drop everything out and save that for last..pull on it from the inside while i cut around it from the outside..pulls right out...

heard of a guy at work that for some odd reason, inserts a STICK..i was trying to eat lunch and wasnt going into details on why on earth he would insert a stick...

In the vid, why wouldn't he just say it...it's called a "butt out".

Looks like it would work, prob won't bother getting one though.

Same here, on the three deer I've gutted I don't see any need to do it another way.

I bought one of those Butt Out tools - then I accidentally sat down on it... Had a heck of a time explaining what happened at the E.R.

I vote knife, doesn't take long at all. I cut around and then tie the anus/rectum off. then when gutting it pulls back to the inside and out clean with no contamination.
