help with set up
i need some help deciding where to hunt this evening. here is what i 've got. stand one . good for north , south and west winds.. on the edge of a cut corn field. 2 houses within 150 yards.the field is on the west and timber on the east. i know there are deer here my brother lives in one the houses and sees deer in the corner by the stand all of the time. he did tell me over the past week he hasn't seen much movement in it though.
stand two. good for almost every wind. it sits in a creek bottom with a decent grass field with a bunch ofhuge oaks. has timber all around it and the creek comes in on the east flows to the south and exits on the south.were the creek is on the south it has a hill with timber that backs up to a ccut corn field. supposedly(?) there are 2 huge 8's that hang out and bed somewhere around that field. stand three. good for south west and/or east winds. has a corn field on the north side, a small pond on the south side , timber to the eastand grass field then timber to the west . don't knowabout any movement there are signs of deer . which one would you guys hunt and what would you use for sents , calling etc. this land only has a couple of us that hunt it and there has been some big deer taken. 18 pt. , 14 pt. , a couple 12's , 10's and some smaller racks. |

RE: help with set up
Its hard to say i really don't pick where i am going to hunt until i get to my spot, i usually get out of the truck and feel it out as i am getting dressed. But if i had to guess i might sit the creek bottom, because i like to hunt them and i find that alot of deer activity is concentrated around ones that have good food close by.
