I don't know which part of the deer I am allergic to but I end up sneezing like mad and get red bumps on my skin when I field dress the deer so you're not alone.

Mu cousin has the same problem. I don't think he breaks out witha rash, but says he gets itchy from the blood.

I have that problem, only I believe it is from the "deer dander". I get itchy and can sneeze and if I touch or rub my eyes forget it. It is similar to someone who is allergic to a cat.

I am allergic to deer blood, im glad I found someone else that is too. Its not too bad as long as you wash it off as soon as you can with a good soap like dial liquid soap and a good scrubby pad. I was actually diagnosed with the allergy. Theres not much anyone can do. If you continue to itch even after its cleaned off, then take a cheap over the counter antihistemine. (sp). I am so allergic to it thatmy handsactually break out in little red bumps. Nothing to be conserned about though. I found out I was allergic to deer blood right after I started butchering meat for a living. Youll live :).

I ALWAYS GET A RASH AFTER FIELD DRESSING A DEER AND MY EYES START TO ITCH BAD. BUT THEN I WENT TO SHOULDER GLOVES AND NO MORE PROBLEMS . WELL ALMOST NO MORE MY NECK STILL ITCHES GO FIGURE...............

I am alsoallergic to deer dander and/or deer blood.
It forces me to be VERY selective on deciding when/where/which to kill deer. So I won't shoot a doe unless I have my friend with me to field dress the deer. I can and do field dress myself but swell up instantly and only have about a 1 hour window to either get benedryl and a shower or get to the emergency room!

Yes, you are not alone. My father also had the same problem. He'd break out in hives real bad from it. He'd have to wear the very long gloves that go up way up your arm to field dress deer.
