Guide tips???

Give me some guidance on guide tips? Flat amount, percentage of hunt price? I know every situation is different...just looking for some general guidelines. Possibly some guides can give an opinion. Thanks! ;)

RE: Guide tips???

I just went on a outfitted deer hunt in Pensylvania that had a $600.00 price tag for 5 days of bowhunting. It was not really a guided hunt we just had a bunch of established stands and a farm house to stay in. We got jerked a bit at first but then the outfitter realized we knew what we were doing so he wised up quick. We ended up giving him each $100.00 which worked out to about 15%, not unlike in a restaurant. He seemed quite pleased and I got the impression he expected less. Had he been more on the ball he would have recieved more though, probably $150.00.

Thanks, Terry. ;) I should have been more specific. Mine is not really a "guided" hunt either. Guides will be in camp to point out the stands, but they don't go on hunts with you. Interested in other replies as well.

The most important one to tip is the cook, he's up first to bed last and the guy who makes the coffee.

I agree 100% but we did our own cooking. Basically we rented a house and he showed us some stands, some which stunk and some which were actually pretty good.
